Design is fine, but audio quality is not, and in one of the test audio systems quickly became deafening when the volume turned-up may be a driver bug. Creative is back to give another try with the HS-1000 USB version. This headset does not include ordinary 1/8-inch headphone and mic plugs into the sound card or integrated audio, but more simple, a USB connection.
The downside is that, if you spend a good chunk a change in sound card, headset bypasses all of that. The upside is a host-based X-Fi audio driver to use the Creative USB headset is very good.

Cosmetically, HS-1000 is very closely mimics the old model. Ear cups that may be a little too small and the spring tension may be a little too tight for the big head, but if not quite comfortable, and can be bent into all kinds of positions for perfect placement.
In line volume and microphone switch small and lightweight, so do not pull down the cord. Unfortunately, Creative has opted for volume up / down buttons of the dial-so when the headset is far too quiet or loud, and you want to change the volume quickly, it is difficult to find the right and press the button a bunch of times.

The best part of the headset X-Fi Creative use host-based driver stack. No, it does not provide all the same modes and features X-Fi sound card, and of course does not feature audio processor to offload processing from the CPU. But the virtual surround CMSS-3D, X-Fi Crystalizer, EAX effects and Ambient algorithms that try and correct, and they sound great.

Seems to improve the quality of the audio through the headset before Fatal1ty also. Both earphone and microphone quality seems improved, but to get a $ 80 headset it sounds pretty good.
One glitch in the test in one test, the system audio output is very extraordinary that the loud volume settings in the system of 15% or so will deafen you. “If the HS-1000s excel, however, is in their ability to handle the volume loud. Even in the near-deafening levels, the HS-1000s hold their ground, with a ringing tone that clearly correct and free from all forms of signal degradation.” It’s probably a driver bug, probably some type of interaction with our integrated audio driver, but the decision USB headset should worry about this. It’s a headset, and there must be on the side of the driver that you use to drive your speakers.
Overall, through the first Fatal1ty headset and a good choice for those who want a simple,
